PLANTSCAPER'S GUIDE

to Interior Landscape Maintenance

by Joelle Steele

2008, 3rd ed.

Joelle's #1 Best-Seller!

NOW AVAILABLE IN SPANISH!

* The most widely used interiorscape maintenance manual in the world

* Used by interior landscape companies everywhere to train techs on-the-job

* Used by corporate in-house maintenance technicians

* Used by colleges and universities that teach interiorscaping

Plantscaper's Guide was designed specifically for interiorscaper training and on-the-job use by interior landscape technicians. It addresses the most common problems that come up during the course of weekly plant maintenance, and teaches you how to maintain tropical plants indoors, including dracaenas, ferns, palm trees, cacti and succulents, pothos, cissus, ficus trees, marantas, aglaonemas, and almost any other kind of indoor plant you can think of!

Plantscaper's Guide overcomes the problems of similar indoor plant care books that are either overly lengthy and technical, or overly simplistic, by providing you with just the right amount of technical information to understand plant physiology and apply it in the field.

In particular, Plantscaper’s Guide emphasizes the importance of learning how to water correctly. In fact, this book contains the entire content of the now out-of-print Indoor Watering Techniques. You won't find any of those unnecessary and highly inaccurate "watering guides" in this book. Instead, you will learn how to water correctly, which will significantly reduce your plant losses. You will not only learn how to water, but you will also learn about the pH of water and the content of water, and how each affects the ability of a plant to utilize the nutrients you apply in the form of fertilizers.

And, speaking of fertilizers, you will learn about plant nutrition, what fertilizer does to a plant, and how to read and interpret a fertilizer label. You'll learn about other things as well, such as soil, pests, light, and temperature.

The second half of Plantscaper's Guide contains profiles of 85 species of plants, along with 68 accompanying plant photos. There are also four pages of Q&A material covering some frequently asked plant care questions from interiorscape technicians.

This book is very lightweight and easily portable, and because it gets a lot of use, it's been spiral-bound, so that you can open it up flat, again and again, without ever damaging the binding.
